Picnic in Central Park

At the question “What impressed you the most in New York City?” I reply, without further ado, Central Park!!! From the busy Fifth Avenue we headed to the popular Hyde Park. Right before it, we indulged some jazz music at the street, that cleared away the stress and prepared us for a stroll at one of the most filmed locations in the world. Bagels and a cheesecake in a paper bag, according to the American tradition, were our supplies for the picnic. Astoria Blvd

Our residence in New York was located in the borough of Queens and specifically in Astoria. As I learnt from our Greek taxi driver, the area owes its name to John Jacob Astor, the wealthiest man in America at that time. It is linked to Manhattan by the N train and usually takes half an hour to get there. But even if you choose to stay in Astoria for a lunch or drink you won’t regret it. You can choose from a big variety of dishes, that combine elements of breakfast and lunch.
